Leila Darleen Smitley, 73, of Fairchance, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
She was born December 20, 1952 in Morgantown.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Leroy and Stella Hoover; brother, Brenley Hoover; sister, Pearl Lu-Ann Grimplin; and her husband, Sam Smitley.
Surviving are her son, Mike Smitley and wife Alicia Smitley; brother, Douglas Andrew Hoover; and other loving family members.
She was a devout member of the Independent Brethren Church of Fairchance.
The family will receive friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Tuesday, September 1, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, September 2, from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bill Samanovich officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield.
