Suzan Cofchin-Barclay, 78, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 23, 2026, in WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 8, 1947, in Uniontown, the daughter of the late Melvin C. and Evelyn Baird.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Barclay; brother, Melvin J. Baird; and infant sister, Kathy Baird.
Suzan is survived by her daughter, Michelle Prescott (Jason); her loving granddaughter, Zoe Scripter (Dylan); sisters, Maureen Stefancin (Tim) and devoted sister, Mary Ann Verney (Bob); loving nephew, Brian Verney (Abbie); many nieces and nephews; sister-in- law, Vanessa Baird; and lifelong friend, John Cofchin.
Suzan was an avid reader and cherished the time she spent with her book club and her dear book club friends. She always looked forward to her “girls’ day” outings and treasured the friendships she made throughout her life.
She touched so many lives with her wonderful sense of humor, kindness, and contagious laughter-Suzan had a special way of making people smile. She enjoyed visiting with friends at Giant Eagle, the post office, and Walmart, where her warm personality made even the simplest encounters memorable. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, and she will forever be remembered for her ability to have a good time and bring laughter and joy to those around her.
Suzan’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements are under the direction of the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood. In accordance with Suzan’s wishes, there will be no viewing, and all services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice, in Suzan’s honor.
