Brownsville man charged with kidnapping, assault

2 min read

Charges were filed Monday against a Brownsville man accused of kidnapping and assaulting his ex-girlfriend and her grandmother.

Tylar Greenough, 30, is charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping to inflict injury/terror, burglary, unlawful restraint causing serious injury and terroristic threats.

Elisa Tressler and Diane Tressler reported Greenough to Uniontown police after Greenough left for work on the morning of Aug. 31, three days after he is accused of breaking into Elisa Tressler’s home on Lincoln Street.

After entering the home, Greenough began beating both women, saying he was angered by Elisa Tressler’s relationship with another man, according to the complaint.

Greenough also threatened to kill both women, as well as Elisa Tressler’s juvenile child, court paperwork said.

Greenough then forced Elisa Tressler to arrange a meeting in Brownsville with the man she had been seeing, during which Greenough unsuccessfully tried to grab the man from the backseat before attempting to run the man over with the car, charging documents stated.

According to the complaint, Greenough forced Elisa Tressler to make a false report to state police claiming that the man had raped her.

Greenough also dropped Elisa Tressler’s child off at his mother’s house before Tressler convinced him to retrieve the child several hours later, the complaint said.

They returned to the Lincoln Street residence on the morning of Aug. 29. Greenough, who had become increasingly suspicious about discovery by police, decided they would stay in a hotel in California instead, where they remained until Greenough left for work Monday morning, the complaint said.

Police said Elisa Tressler had a heavily bruised left eye. Diane Tressler had suffered heavy bruising on her eyes, cheeks and chin, along with a cut under her right eye, the complaint said.

No bail information was available Tuesday morning.
