Ride for a Cure benefits American Cancer Society
?When Megan Poli of Uniontown considered senior projects, her aunt Lisa Rose suggested doing something to help the American Cancer Society.
Rose, of Uniontown, is a six-year breast cancer survivor and a member of the Fayette County Volunteer Leadership Council of the American Cancer Society where she serves as co-chairwoman of Relay for Life of Fayette County, a Reach for Recovery volunteer and a member American Cancer Society无毛视频檚 Cancer Action Network. Rose and her husband, Todd, are also on the Relay for Life advisory team of the East Central Division of the American Cancer Society that covers Pennsylvania and Ohio.
无毛视频淩elay无毛视频檚 a family affair for us. All of the family is involved,无毛视频� she said.
Poli, 17-year-old daughter of Lou and Lana Poli and a senior at Laurel Highlands High School, said, 无毛视频淚 was inspired by my aunt.无毛视频�
Poli has been riding horses since she was age 11 and is a member of the 4-H Fairchance Horse Club. She looked to this as a way to help.
无毛视频淚 wanted to do something with horses and I figured a good way was a benefit show,无毛视频� Poli said.
The result is Ride for a Cure, which will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Horse Arena at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, located off Route 119 in Dunbar Township. The daylong event will begin at 9 a.m. and will include contest classes, pleasure and hunter under saddle. There also will be three payback classes.
Poli, Rose and other participants recently gathered at Prescott-Beal Performance Horses in Franklin Township to talk about Ride for a Cure. The participants included Karen Sampey, another survivor who had bone cancer in 1983.
They explained that participants will register for Ride for a Cure on the day of the event. There is a registration fee. There is no charge for spectators.

Poli noted there will be a Chinese auction.
All money raised from Ride for a Cure will go towards the 2011 Relay for Life. Fayette County has until Aug. 31 to raise money to be included in this year无毛视频檚 drive.

Poli has spent many months organizing and promoting the event. Her work included selling T-shirts and putting together a Facebook page called Ride for a Cure-open horse show.
She is hoping for public support for the project.
Poli said, 无毛视频淔rom December until now, I无毛视频檝e worked so hard with my horse and so has everybody else with their horses. We would appreciate it if people came out to see all the hard work that everybody无毛视频檚 put in.无毛视频�
