History Center to host Hometown-Homegrown Food Fest
The Senator John Heinz History Center无毛视频檚 Hometown-Homegrown food festival, presented in partnership with GoodTaste! Pittsburgh, will return on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
More than 40 local food and drink vendors will be at the History Center to share samples of their tastiest food and drinks, from long-time Pittsburgh staples like Isaly无毛视频檚 and Wholey无毛视频檚 to diverse, emerging businesses such as Oakmont Olive Oil and Tug Butter.
As part of the event, visitors can enjoy an exciting slate of cooking demonstrations with culinary experts, along with artisan talks by local specialty vendors.
There will be cooking demonstrations in the Weisbrod Kitchen Classroom on the center无毛视频檚 third floor.
At 10:30 a.m., Chris Fennimore of 无毛视频淨ED Cooks无毛视频� will demonstrate how to make Mister Roger无毛视频檚 favorite banana bread; at noon Chef Alekka Sweeney will host 无毛视频淧ies 101,无毛视频� where visitors will watch and learn how the craft the perfect pie crust; and at 1:30 p.m., Wholey无毛视频檚 Market will show visitors how to make delicious homemade crab cakes.
Artisan Talks in the fourth-floor Campbell Gallery include Kissel Spice at 11:30 a.m. and Honey So Good Apiary at 12:30 p.m.
Visitors can also explore six floors of History Center exhibitions, including 无毛视频淗einz and Pittsburgh: A Tradition of Innovation,无毛视频� which examines the region无毛视频檚 rich food history.
All Hometown-Homegrown activities, food samples, and center exhibitions are included with regular admission, and are free for History Center members.
Children 17 and under are admitted for free.
