Music review: Huey Lewis and the News – 无毛视频榃eather无毛视频�
During my college days, my cassette of 无毛视频溛廾悠滴廾悠禎 by Huey Lewis and the News would receive regular playing time on my daily commute from home to campus.
The band无毛视频檚 third release from 1983 featured infectious hits like 无毛视频淭he Heart of Rock & Roll,无毛视频� 无毛视频淗eart and Soul,无毛视频� 无毛视频淚 Want a New Drug无毛视频� and 无毛视频淚f This Is It.无毛视频� As a result of the success of the album and MTV videos, the San Francisco-based band became a household name.
Three years later, Huey Lewis and the News would release 无毛视频淔ore!无毛视频� with signature tracks 无毛视频淪tuck with You,无毛视频� 无毛视频淒oing It All for My Baby无毛视频� and 无毛视频淗ip to Be Square,无毛视频� sealing the band无毛视频檚 无毛视频�80s icon status.
无毛视频淲eather无毛视频� is the band无毛视频檚 first album of new material since 2001无毛视频檚 无毛视频淧lan B.无毛视频� Containing only seven tracks clocking in at just over 26 minutes, 无毛视频淲eather无毛视频� proves to be a nostalgic trip that is as short as it is sweet.
Lewis, who was diagnosed with an inner-ear disorder that causes hearing loss, sounds as strong as ever on likable numbers that effortlessly blend pop, soul and R&B.
无毛视频淟ife is short/Let无毛视频檚 take advantage of every opportunity,无毛视频� sings Lewis on the opener 无毛视频淲hile We无毛视频檙e Young,无毛视频� reminding fans (and himself) that the music just might be coming to a close because of his deteriorating hearing condition.
Lewis is at his best on the toe-tapping 无毛视频淗er Love Is Killin无毛视频� Me.无毛视频� Traces of 1982无毛视频檚 无毛视频淲orkin for a Livin'无毛视频� can be heard on this mid-tempo number about a romantic relationship that无毛视频檚 hard to maintain as the 69-year-old Lewis declares, 无毛视频淎nd I ain无毛视频檛 but half the man I used to be/Her love is killing me.无毛视频�
A Motown vibe is demonstrated on 无毛视频淚 Am There for You.无毛视频� Lewis delivers a real charmer about always being there through the good times and the bad.
Fueled by a smooth bass groove and rousing horns, 无毛视频淩emind Me Why I Love You Again无毛视频� will certainly fill the dance floor, while 无毛视频淧retty Girls Everywhere无毛视频� is flat-out fun to sing along to.
无毛视频淥ne of the Boys无毛视频� ends the set with a country flavoring that finds Lewis reminiscing about the early days of his career. He closes on a positive note about his future when he proclaims, 无毛视频淭hough I ain无毛视频檛 getting any younger, I无毛视频檓 a long way from done.无毛视频�
