Bryan Adams delivers his first studio album in six years by paying tribute to the songs that provided him the inspiration and motivation to become a musician.
The vintage arrangements from the glorious days when AM radio provided devoted listeners with a diverse soundtrack certainly make for an entertaining mixture of varying musical styles.
For the most part, Adams honors these carefully selected classics with sincere love and respect. For the album无毛视频檚 opener, the Canadian rocker offers up some of his infectious, spirited style to the John Lennon and Paul McCartney penned 无毛视频淎ny Time at All.无毛视频� The song perfectly illustrates the straightforward rock image of the jeans, white T-shirt and leather jacket artist featured on classics like 无毛视频淭his Time无毛视频� and 无毛视频淐uts Like a Knife.无毛视频�
Other standout tracks include Ray Charles无毛视频� 无毛视频淚 Can无毛视频檛 Stop Loving You,无毛视频� Bobby Hebb无毛视频檚 无毛视频淪unny,无毛视频� Smokey Robinson无毛视频檚 无毛视频淭he Tracks of My Tears无毛视频� and Winfred 无毛视频淏lue无毛视频� Lovett无毛视频檚 soulful 无毛视频淜iss and Say Goodbye.无毛视频� Adams无毛视频� stripped-down version of Brian Wilson and Tony Asher无毛视频檚 无毛视频淕od Only Knows无毛视频� is an emotional gem with the 54-year-old singer matching Carl Wilson无毛视频檚 original vocal performance note for note.
While 无毛视频淭racks of My Years无毛视频� is a charming effort, not all the tracks hit the right note. Adams无毛视频� performance on Bob Dylan无毛视频檚 无毛视频淟ay Lady Lay,无毛视频� John Fogerty无毛视频檚 无毛视频淒own on the Corner无毛视频� and Chuck Berry无毛视频檚 无毛视频淩ock and Roll Music无毛视频� sounds uninspired and bland. The new album also contains an original arrangement written by Adams and Jim Vallance. 无毛视频淪he Knows Me无毛视频� is prime Adams reminiscent of earlier hits like 无毛视频淪traight from the Heart无毛视频� and 无毛视频�(Everything I Do) I Do It for You.无毛视频�
Five additional tracks are featured on the deluxe edition including a tenderly touching cover of Kris Kristofferson无毛视频檚 无毛视频淗elp Me Make It Through the Night.无毛视频� An album of new material from Adams is reportedly scheduled to be released in 2015.
