Salt of the Earth offers unique experience in Washington County
While Lisa Mascara had never been to a salt cave, she knew she wanted to own and operate a business that would make people feel better.
Seven years ago, she opened Salt of the Earth in McMurray and though some may have experienced a salt room at the local spa, Mascara says this is an entirely different experience.
无毛视频淚 hate to compare it to the ocean or the mountains, but it无毛视频檚 all about how you feel when you无毛视频檙e in it. It无毛视频檚 really hard to convey how you feel in the space,无毛视频� Mascara said.
She spared no expense when creating the salt cave.
She brought in 16 tons of Himalayan salt from Eastern Europe and a specialty team from Poland built the custom cave.
Studies show there are plenty of benefits from salt caves or salt rooms.
It无毛视频檚 known to provide anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties, causes a natural release of serotonin and improves respiratory function.
Regardless, many are not sure they want to give it a try, Mascara still thinks it无毛视频檚 fun to watch the transformation from healthy skeptic to huge fan.
无毛视频淚 really enjoy it when people bring in their friends and family. They loved it and had such a great experience and they want to share it,无毛视频� Mascara said. 无毛视频淎 lot of times, people come in with preconceived notions. They may be a bit guarded but when they come back out, you can feel this dramatic shift. I say it无毛视频檚 like that big backpack of emotional garbage we carry around with us has been released.无毛视频�
Most recently, the business has expanded.
In addition to private events available for groups, Mascara partners with other local providers to offer energy massages, guided meditation, restorative yoga and Chakra sound bath therapy.
These ancient practices have seen an increase in popularity in the past several years as many seek healing in different ways.
无毛视频淭here无毛视频檚 a shift energetically in the world. One of my biggest goals was to provide a space that would introduce holistic healing and mindfulness in a safe space,无毛视频� Mascara said.
The Salt Cave also offers a small boutique with jewelry, gift items and crystals.
Mascara even offers sessions explaining crystals and their use in day-to-day activity.
无毛视频淲hen I first opened the shop, I had about 75 crystals and now I have thousands. It无毛视频檚 just in response to what people love,无毛视频� Mascara said. 无毛视频淚 think a lot of people don无毛视频檛 understand them, like we无毛视频檙e praying to the crystals or something. I liken them to energy vitamins. We don无毛视频檛 have any issues taking vitamins in a pill form. The crystals just provide energy differently and they allow you to set intentions.无毛视频�
According to Mascara, they also provide a natural connection to the earth and she无毛视频檚 seen more experts accepting the value of eastern or natural medicine every day.
