New Bituminous Coal Queen begins reign
Lexus Novotny, a senior at Geibel Catholic High School, was crowned the Pennsylvania Bituminous Coal Queen at this yearÎÞëÊÓÆµ™s pageant, held Sunday at Carmichaels Area High School in the opening weekend of the King Coal Show. She was also awarded Top Evening Gown and Top Interview in the annual competition, which brings together contestants from 14 local high schools.
Leah Williamson of Mapletown High School was first runner-up, also winning Top Talent. Second runner-up Logan Carlson of Laurel Highlands High School was also honored for Top Sponsor and Top Impromptu Question.
Following them were Malanna Hertig of Carmichaels Area High School and Arissa Myers of Albert Gallatin High School.
Kaylin Luster of Belle Vernon High School was named Miss Photogenic, while Jadyn Russell of California Area High School was awarded Miss Congeniality.
