Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club names girl of the month
The Carmichaels Area WomenÎÞëÊÓÆµ™s Civic Club recently announced the September Girl of the Month awardees, a senior from the Carmichaels Area High School.
Alexa Mori is the daughter of Anthony and Lois Mori. In school, Mori is co-captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and co-captain of cross country. She is treasurer of the senior class and secretary of Students in Action. She is a mentor with Big Brother Big Sisters, a member of the Carmichaels LionsÎÞëÊÓÆµ™ Club ÎÞëÊÓÆµ“ Leo Club, Senior Standing Committee, National Honor Society, Student Council, Spanish Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions, book club and Mikes Nation Live.
Mori loves to be able to give back to her community, and she has volunteered her time at the local food bank, Salvation Army, Junior Achievements of Western PA and various events held by her clubs and the community throughout the year. She received The Challenge Program, Inc. Community Service Award in October 2022. Mori was Carmichaels Area High SchoolÎÞëÊÓÆµ™s Bituminous 2023 Coal Queen Representative. She won the top sponsorship award and was fourth runner-up. Alexa is an assistant teacher at MoschettaÎÞëÊÓÆµ™s Performing Arts Center. She has been dancing for 16 years and has been a member of MPACÎÞëÊÓÆµ™s competitive dance team for 13 years.
MoriÎÞëÊÓÆµ™s future endeavors include attending a medical imaging school for radiology technology and sonography to obtain a bachelor of science degree and continue dancing at the collegiate level.
