State Theatre in Uniontown announces upcoming season
The 2023-24 season at the State Theatre Center for the Arts in Uniontown kicks off this month 无毛视频� on Friday the 13th 无毛视频� with a family-friendly show befitting the date.
无毛视频淗aunted Illusions无毛视频� starring David Caserta, offers magic and comedy with a promise of thrills to the audience. Caserta, one of the top touring illusionists in the country, has been featured on NBC无毛视频檚 无毛视频淎merica无毛视频檚 Got Talent无毛视频� and CW无毛视频檚 无毛视频淧enn and Teller Fool Us.无毛视频� The show includes audience participation, and is suitable for patrons age 5 and older.
The season continues with the stage show, 无毛视频淎lways Patsy Cline无毛视频� on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. The show tells the story of Cline无毛视频檚 rise to fame, and features her classic hits like 无毛视频淐razy,无毛视频� 无毛视频淲alking After Midnight,无毛视频� 无毛视频淪weet Dreams,无毛视频� and more.
The annual Nutcracker Ballet, featuring local dancers ages 7 and up from throughout the region, offers four performances between Friday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 10.
In the spring, the season features 无毛视频�3 Redneck Tenors- Broadway Bound无毛视频� on Friday, March 1. The classically trained vocalists performed during the 2022-2023 season at the State and were so impressive, the theatre is bringing them back again.
Two music tribute shows round out the season: The Brothers Doobie will channel the Doobie Brothers on Friday, April 12 at 8 p.m., and So Good will channel Neil Diamond on Saturday, May 18 at 8 p.m.
The theatre will also continue its classic film series throughout the year. All of the films are shown at both 2 and 7 p.m., with $7 admission for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Last season, the theatre celebrated 100 years. This year, its board is focused on working to address several issues that affect the building. The aging fly rail system and theatrical rigging, the lack of air conditioning, and the general wear and tear on the building and on the Union Trust building, also owned and utilized by the theatre, are all part of that effort.
Both the fly rail system and theatrical rigging, which control the moving scenery, stage curtains, and on-stage lighting, have to be replaced. A number of city, county and state officials and agencies have worked to secure funding for the theatre to proceed with replacing the systems, and work continues to address the other improvements.
